2012 sees the 30th Wargrave 10K. It will be the usual course, starting and finishing on grass with the rest of the course on undulating country lanes and some residential streets within village. There are three water stations on the course.
We have ChampionChip timing again for 2012 and the race is again selected as the 10k event for the Berkshire County Championships.
We have a team category and encourage and welcome runners of all standards from beginners to experienced to enter. The event enjoys a real festival and family atmosphere and lends itself to bringing family and friends along to support so is perfect for the runner entering their first event or the runner with many races under the belt.
There is a play area on the recreation ground for children and there will be a tea & cake stall run by the local brownies.
With a new village pavilion we have fantastic changing room and shower facilities for the 2012 race. There will also be a kit room which will be locked during the race. There will also be plenty of toilets around the start/finish area.
The car park is adjacent to the recreation ground, with plenty of room for all, so no long walk to the start/finish area. In fact you will have a much shorter walk to the start/finish area if you use the car park than if you try to park in the village streets, so please use it and help us to keep our village residents happy.
There will be a Sports Massage service, Apex Sports will have a stall there and there will be other stalls.
Sorry, but no dogs or pushchairs are allowed in race and no dogs are allowed on the recreation ground itself, but there is a dog walking field adjacent to the car park.
